Cheese Lover's Weekend

Celebrate the flavors of spring along the Indiana Uplands Wine Trail. Each winery along the trail will offer delectable cheese offerings all weekend, some perfectly paired with your favorite IUWT wines. A wonderful way to kick off the spring season!
Providing a tasty spread of cheeses, Best Vineyards will offer 4 unique flavors paired perfectly with their chosen wines. Featured cheeses include Roasted Red Pepper & Cracked Peppercorn Cheese, Applewood Smoked Sea Salt Cheese, Chipotle Garlic Cheese, and Wild Blueberry & Strawberry Goat Cheese.
Butler Winery will be featuring cheese from Havarti, a semi-soft cow's milk cheese. Havarti is smooth, creamy, and has a buttery aroma that loves a good red wine like cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, and merlot! White wine lovers will enjoy it equally as well with a sauvignon blanc or riesling to complement its buttery flavor. Cheese flavors offered this weekend: Plain, Caraway, Dill, Jalapeno, and Herbs & Spices.
BROWN CO. WINERY
FRENCH LICK WINERY
French Lick is pairing with Fair Oaks Farms, an Indiana cheesemaker committed to educating the public about modern farming, and protecting the environment, caring for their animals and enduring the highest quality products possible. Offering two samples to taste with their wines - Havarti Dill, a rich, semi-soft cheese with a buttery flavor and flecked with herbaceous dill. Smoked Sweet Swiss, a special creation from Fair Oaks Master cheesemaker, this cheese is hardwood smoked and goes well with barbecue or layered on a cheeseburger.
Oliver Winery will be featuring classic cheeses from Fair Oaks Farms, perfectly paired with each purchased tasting on both Saturday and Sunday. Oliver will also be partnering with New York institution, Murray’s Cheese, for a Wine & Cheese Pairing class on Sunday the 9th. Two classes will be offered at 1 pm and 3 pm. $5 fee is donated to the Monroe County Humane Society. Classes are limited to 24 guests each. Sign up for the class by calling Kroger’s Murray’s Cheese Counter at (812) 333-5766. The class will include a sampling of cheese and wines with experts from both Murray’s and Oliver Winery.
OWEN VALLEY WINERY
Owen Valley is pairing with Sartori Cheeses, a family owned and operated company in the great American tradition. Featured Sartori cheeses (+ our suggested pairing for this weekend) include: Basil & Olive Oil Asiago Reserve (Sangiovese & Valley Red), Black Pepper BellaVitano (Carignan, Petit Sirah & Zinfandel Barrel Reserve), Gold BellaVitano Reserve (Chardonnay, Traminette, Peach and Persimmon Trio), and finally the Pine River Cheddar Pimento (Timber Ridge Red and Valley Blush or Cantankerous Neighbor Hard Cider).
TURTLE RUN WINERY
Winzerwald will feature four varieties of cheese paired with four great wines. You will even have the option to purchase them to enjoy in the comforts of your home! Featured cheeses include Ginseng & Garlic Jack, Hatch Pepper Cheddar, Forage Mushroom & Spring Onion Jack, and Blueberry Cobbler Cheddar.
